We always want to make your travel as easy as possible. This is a vacation! Please don’t hesitate to reach out directly with any questions regarding a retreat.

Should I arrive early?
Due to the nature of travel these days, it’s never a bad idea to allow for extra time. That being said, the Villa will not be available until February 13. Our booking agent recommended the Omni Hotel in Puerto Aventuras. If you choose to go early, Hacienda Magica is located in Puerto Aventuras. It is approximately 1 hour south of Cancun, 15 minutes south of Playa Del Carmen, 15 minutes north of Akumal, and 35 minutes north of Tulum. Located in the heart of the Mayan Riviera, Puerto Aventuras is less than an hour south of Cancun International Airport.

Are airport transfers included?
Airport transfers are not included in the cost of the trip, but we can help you arrange airport transfers. Depending on flight arrivals of our guests, we can arrange for group or individual pick-up. Keep in mind that check-in is 3pm and check-out is 10am.

If you are staying nearby before or after the retreat days we will help arrange a transfer.

Is Hacienda Magica part of a hotel?
The villa we are staying at – Hacianda Magica – is considered a private villa that is part of a company called Riviera Maya Haciendas. It is classified as a five star hotel. We have read reviews on many different sites that are all outstanding. The benefit of Hacianda Magica is the benefits of a hotel (personal concierge and service) with the feeling of a private home. The perfect retreat spot.

Do I need to bring my yoga mat?
Yes, please bring a yoga mat. We are staying at a 5-star private villa rather than a yoga retreat center. If you are unable to bring a mat, please let us know and we will make sure to help. Sarah Wilkinson is designing classes that require few props.

Where will we do yoga?
We have been told that there is ample room to do group yoga classes, which include on the balcony, by the pool, on the tennis courts, or in the courtyard. Since we have not yet seen this property in person, we can’t answer this question with certainty. We will be arriving early to find the most enjoyable spot on the property. And remember, you can always have private lessons with Sarah Wilkinson.

I’m new to yoga, will I be able to keep up?
Sarah Wilkinson will be leading our yoga. She will tailor her classes based on who signs up for this trip. You are always encouraged to listen to your body, and show up as you can. This means taking breaks as needed and modifying positions so they work with your body. Please let us know if you have any concerns or injuries Sarah should be aware of when teaching yoga. Learn more about Sarah and her yoga practice at Breathe & Release.

Are there chairs and umbrellas available for the beach? Is there an extra cost?
Staff at the villa will move any chaises down to the beach per request. There is no extra cost, but we do recommend tipping. Umbrellas can be brought down depending on wind.

Is the beach safe to walk? Is the water swimmable?
There is room to walk, and it is safe. The water is gorgeous! The only thing that prevents swimming is seaweed level. Seaweed is unpredictable based on the tides. So far it’s been clear this year. Kayaks and paddleboards are available free of charge.

What is the area like?
Puerto Aventuras, Mexico is a gated community. There is a small town, Marina, and beach. It appears to cater to tourists. You can even rent a golf cart to get around! Puerto Aventuras sits between Tulum and Playa del Carmen.

What are meals like?
Meals will be buffet and family style prepared by our personal gourmet chef. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack are provided. Dietary restrictions such as vegan, vegetarian, gluten free are available. Please let us know ahead of time if you will need special accommodation.

Is this a women only retreat?
All gender identities are welcome to all of our retreats unless specifically stated otherwise.

What is the capacity?
The retreat capacity is 12. We like to keep group size small to really have individualized service.

What are the spa treatments?
Massages include Swedish, deep tissue, and four-hand. Also available are facials, body scrubs, manicures and pedicures. The treatments will be done at the villa in the place of your choosing – your bedroom, poolside, balcony, etc. We will send a spa menu per request.

What if I want to skip an activity?
This retreat is all about self-love and relaxation. Please be guided by what feels best for you.
